Completing this course is the first required step on the road to getting your licence and will cover all of the fundamentals you need to know prior to beginning your practical driving lessons.
Step 2: Attend and Complete the Road Ready Centre Pre-Learner Licence Course
Once you're booked in, all you need to do is show up and participate. The Road Ready Centre Pre-Learner Licence Course introduces new drivers to key concepts about safety and driving over 2 consecutive days (5hrs each day) or 3 consecutive nights (3.5hrs each night) depending on the booking you have selected. It encourages in-class discussion of these concepts to solidify learning.
Students complete a workbook privately to pass the course. You must also attend the entire course in order to receive your completion certificate.
Step 3: Pass the Knowledge Test
After attending and completing our ACT Pre-Learner Licence Course, you need to successfully pass the Road Rules Knowledge Test at one of our offices in Mitchell or Kambah. By booking our pre-learner course, you automatically get 2 attempts of the knowledge test included for free.
To attempt the test, simply visit one of our offices during our testing hours and request to sit the test. Or alternatively, you can book the Knowledge Test with us by contacting one of our offices in case you have special needs.
Step 4: Collect and Present Certificates
After successfully completing both the Road Ready Centre Pre-Learner Licence Course and Driver Knowledge Test, we will issue you with your completion certificates which should be taken to an Access Canberra centre as proof to receive your new ACT learner licence.
