ROAD READY CENTRE PRE-LEARNER LICENCE COURSE

FOR SPECIAL NEEDS STUDENTS

The Road Ready Centre Pre-Learner Licence Course is the initial mandatory introduction for getting your learners licence in the ACT.

Our Road Ready Centre Pre-Learner Licence Course is the very first step you need to take to get your learner licence in the ACT.

Special Needs and Consideration Information:

If you have any learning support needs which prevents you from completing the group course, such as ADHD, Autism, Anxiety, etc., The Road Ready Centre offers one on one courses. This service is subsidised by the ACT Government. To qualify, you need to have a genuine learning support need and:

  1. Complete the “One-on-One Consideration” form.
  2. Provide supporting documentation which can be, listed in preference, a:
  • Completed Driving Licence Medical form completed by your doctor. Please note: this form is only valid for 6 months. It will need to detail the reason the applicant needs a one on one course.
  • Confirmation letter from a doctor or psychologist confirming the person’s suitability to obtain a driver licence
  • Letter from a support worker

These one on one sessions are available on a case by case basis after considering the individual circumstances – not a guarantee.

The more evidence you can provide, the more likely your application will be approved.

To apply, please use the contact us page on this website, email us at roadreadynorth@ascenttrainingservices.com.au, or call us on 6103 0463.

4 Simple Steps to Getting Your ACT Learner Licence:

Step 1: Book our Road Ready Centre Pre-Learner Licence Course

Simply book yourself into one of our classes using one of the above booking buttons. Getting your learner licence in the ACT is easy with our Road Ready Centre Pre-Learner Licence Course. Completing this course is the first required step on the road to getting your licence and will cover all of the fundamentals you need to know prior to beginning your practical driving lessons.

Step 2: Attend and Complete the Road Ready Centre Pre-Learner Licence Course

Once you're booked in, all you need to do is show up and participate. The Road Ready Centre Pre-Learner Licence Course introduces new drivers to key concepts about safety and driving over 2 consecutive days (5hrs each day) or 3 consecutive nights (3.5hrs each night) depending on the booking you have selected. It encourages in-class discussion of these concepts to solidify learning.

Students complete a workbook privately to pass the course. You must also attend the entire course in order to receive your completion certificate.

Step 3: Pass the Knowledge Test

After attending and completing our ACT Pre-Learner Licence Course, you need to successfully pass the Road Rules Knowledge Test at one of our offices in Mitchell or Kambah. By booking our pre-learner course, you automatically get 2 attempts of the knowledge test included for free.

To attempt the test, simply visit one of our offices during our testing hours and request to sit the test. Or alternatively, you can book the Knowledge Test with us by contacting one of our offices in case you have special needs.

Step 4: Collect and Present Certificates

After successfully completing both the Road Ready Centre Pre-Learner Licence Course and Driver Knowledge Test, we will issue you with your completion certificates which should be taken to an Access Canberra centre as proof to receive your new ACT learner licence.
